The face is the most common treatment zone as many skin concerns treated by HALO, such as wrinkles, sun damage, and age spots, are most visible here.

The neck is not usually given as much attention as the face. People can forget to give it proper care in regards to skincare and sunscreen. This leaves the neck with more visible signs of aging and sun damage. For continuity and for a true anti-aging effect, we recommend treating the neck along with the face for optimal results (and additional savings).

Much like the neck, the chest can be overlooked, leaving it vulnerable to premature signs of aging. Particularly from the nature of the decollete, it faces more sun exposure than other parts of the body, which can result in unwanted sunspots and discolouration. This is why HALO can be exceptional for treatment of the chest.

It is said that the hands are the true give-away to someone’s age. Once again, people often forget to take proper care of the hands, yet they experience the same aging processes as areas on the body. HALO can treat unwanted wrinkles, skin laxity, sun damage, and age spots.

The HALO is a diverse treatment and can be used for virtually any area of the body. Whether it is to treat stretch marks, skin laxity, or scars, the HALO is an exquisite solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Halo Laser FAQs

Am I a good candidate for Halo™ Laser?

The HALO™ Laser treatment is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles, skin discoloration, scars, stretch marks, skin laxity, sun damage, and age spots, and is suitable for all ages. It is a safe and highly customizable treatment with lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation than most other laser treatments on the market. Meaning, the HALO can be used safely for darker skin-types. That being said, the best way to know if you are a good candidate for HALO, is by scheduling a consultation with one of our highly qualified staff members.

How does fractional resurfacing work on problem areas?

The first hybrid-fractional laser on the market, the HALO™ Laser emits two laser beams of differing wavelengths through the same channel in the skin. This targets both the superficial and deep layers of the skin simultaneously. The process triggers the body’s natural immune response to rejuvenate the skin and repair unwanted texture and concerns, with maximum results and minimal downtime.

What is a Halo™ Laser appointment like?

After a consultation with our highly qualified staff, and approval from our doctor, we will work together to determine the best treatment plan for you and your skin. Once a treatment package has been selected, you are ready to come in for your appointment. First when you come in, you will be asked to fill out a couple forms. Next, you will be brought to your treatment room where a numbing cream will be applied and left to work over the next hour. Once the freezing cream is fully active, the treatment will begin. A technician will walk you through the actual treatment and its steps, ensuring you are the most comfortable possible. Thanks to the numbing cream, the treatment is relatively pain-free, with patients describing the sensation as “mild stinging”.

How long does each appointment last?

The appointment consists of a few different parts, including 1 full hour for numbing cream to activate, some pre-treatment care, and 20 minutes to 1 hour of treatment time.

How many visits will it take for me to see results?

HALO™ and its many innovations allow for fewer treatments, with greater results. This means that patients will see results in the weeks following their first visit. That being said, depending on your treatment plan, full results will only be visible 2-3 months after the final treatment of your care regime

Are the effects permanent?

Effects can be considered permanent, however, HALO™ “rewinds” the aging process, rather than stopping it. This means it is still important to use good quality skin care and apply proper sunscreen to maximize treatment results.

What is the difference between the HALO™ Laser and Fraxel Laser?

HALO™ is a hybrid-fractional laser which utilizes dual-wave technology, while Fraxel® only uses one wavelength. This allowed the HALO™ Laser to be more effective, with fewer treatments, and reduced downtime.

What is the difference between HALO™ Laser and BBL?

HALO™ Laser utilizes precise hybrid fractional laser technology, while BBL is an intense pulse light treatment. This means, BBL treats the skin more superficially through a broader range of wavelengths, while HALO’s dual-wave technology treats both superficial and subdermal layers of the treatment zone simultaneously using a precision laser.

HALO™ Laser is designed specifically for fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, and other signs of aging, while BBL Laser is approved for both red and brown spots, including small veins, active acne, sunspots, freckles, rosacea, and age spots. BBL Laser also requires more treatments, with more frequent maintenance.

What are the side effects to Halo™ Laser?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will feel very hot. In the couple days following the treatment, you may experience some swelling and redness, however they will resolve on their own. On day 2-3 post treatment, your skin will develop a texture resembling coffee grounds. It is important in this time not to exfoliate, as these specks (called microscopic epidermal necrotic debri, or MENDs) are integral to the healing process. For facial treatments, they should shed off over the next 5-7 days, revealing your smoothed and treated skin.

How long is the recovery period?

The HALO laser is an extremely advanced and revolutionary technology in that it has significantly less downtime than its conventional counterparts. Patients are able to return to makeup after 24 hours post treatment, however skin will return to regular (and improved) appearance around 1 week post treatment, depending on treatment area.

Is the Halo™ Laser good for wrinkles reduction?

The HALO laser can treat many different concerns, including wrinkle reduction. The treatment has skin tightening properties and increases collagen production in the skin. These two processes help reduce the appearance of fine lines, although deeper wrinkles may need a combination of treatments for maximum effectiveness. The only way to really know if a treatment is suitable for you, is to schedule a consultation with one of our highly qualified staff to configure a treatment regime which best supports you and your concerns.
